About Us
Fifty years ago, the Patterson family began converting the 100 acre family farm from a dairy operation into a B&B tree nursery and Landscape Distribution Center, or, as it was in the in the 70’s, “Rewholesale Yard.” With encouragement from friends and relatives in the industry, the new venture quickly grew into a popular source for landscapers to purchase trees and shrubs. The operation expanded in the 80’s with the addition of a Propagation Division, offering a selection of potted shrub liners.
Over the past five decades, Manor View has become a leader in the nursery industry, both in Maryland and across the U.S. The partnership between brother and sister, Pat Patterson and Nancy Young, was a successful combination for many years and we have been fortunate to have had many loyal staff over the year, many of whom have spent their entire careers at the nursery. In 2007, Alan Jones, John Clark, and Dennis Hendrix purchased the nursery and continued building on the established legacy. It is fitting in our 50th year, we have a succession plan in place to prepare the next generation for the next 50 years.
Manor View has navigated many economic ups and downs during this time and continues to offer Mid-Atlantic landscape customers unique and unmatched service. We continue to expand our use of technology to improve efficiency; fifty years ago, all orders were written down with pencil and paper, and today, we are utilizing AI to streamline our operations.
Education of both customers and team members is an important aspect of our business. The annual Manor View Education Seminar, now in its 28th year, has allowed us to bring many unique international and national speakers to Maryland for the first time.
As we celebrate 50 years in business, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers. Your loyalty, trust, and support over the decades have made this journey possible. We are proud of where we’ve been and even more excited about where we’re going together.
